Lisa Hult Sandgren

I am an artist and illustrator living on the island Orust who paints animals and nature in watercolour. My company was started in 2016 with a graphic collection of posters and cards as I have a background in graphic design and web design. But shortly afterwards, I found a new way of expressing myself that took the company in a completely different direction. I started painting watercolor.

I have no education in art to lean on, I am self-taught in painting. On the other hand, I have studied color theory, composition and layout.

I have a huge interest in bird watching and experiencing nature, which is reflected in my art. Birds, animals and nature are my muse and I find much of the inspiration right outside the door where wildlife thrives. I like to paint in sober colors and focus on naturalism.

"If aesthetics is for the artist what ornithology is for the birds, I don't give a damn about aesthetics because the birds don't give a damn about ornithology, they fly, I paint."
